Senior Living Facility in Bakersfield, CA
A Bakersfield assisted living and memory care community
Magnolia Place is an assisted living and memory care community in Bakersfield, run by Fields Senior Living. Fields describes itself as a family-owned operator with communities in California, Oregon and Washington.
Bakersfield had 422,165 residents in 2025 per the Census Bureau, and it sits in Kern County. The median home in town was built in 1990, per the American Community Survey (2024).
For a lot of local families, this is where a parent or grandparent moves once daily life at home gets harder. The company describes a small, boutique-style setting with care and support around the clock.
Daily care, shared meals and a busy social calendar
On the assisted living side, residents live in studios, two-bedroom or one-bedroom apartments. The website lists studios starting at $4,169. The memory care side is built for people living with memory loss, with private suites and shared neighbor suites.
The company says common areas there are warm and simple to get around. It also names chef-inspired dining and a full calendar of social events as part of daily life. The front office keeps 9 to 5 hours Monday through Thursday and closes on weekends.
Magnolia Place holds a 4.6 rating from 102 Google reviews. Reviewers mention the friendly staff most, along with good food, fun activities and a clean, welcoming building. Several families say the tour helped them decide, and one describes hospice care at the end of a long stay going smoothly.
If you just moved to Bakersfield with an aging parent, set up a tour and walk the floor plans and common areas in person before you decide.
Google Reviews
My dad was a resident of Magnolia Place Assisted Living for almost 5 years. He recently passed away while in hospice care - provided at Magnolia Place. The hospice provider and Magnolia Place personnel worked well together and made the transition as smooth as possible. We are so grateful for their care, concern, and compassion. Dad received excellent service and attention while living at Magnolia Place. Dad had strong opinions and if he hadn’t liked the facility, care givers, or the food, we definitely would have heard about it during our frequent visits. But that wasn’t the case.
Magnolia Place is a wonderful facility! The faculty and staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable—it is always clean, warm, and very, very welcoming. I can't recommend them enough!
